About the Event
Dr. Oswaldo Valdes-Lopez is a biologist from FES Iztacala-UNAM (Mexico), he earned his Ph.D., at the Center for Genomic Sciences (CCG-UNAM). He joined the Dr. Gary Stacey Laboratory as Postdoctoral Researcher, working on the genetic and epigenetic mechanism controlling the soybean innate immunity. Four years later, he joined Dr. Jean-Michel Ané Laboratory as Research Associate working on the early events occurring in the root nodule symbiosis. In 2013 Dr. Valdes-Lopez became Assistant Professor at FES Iztacala UNAM, and since 2017 he became tenured Associate Professor. Dr. Valdes-Lopez’ research program is financed by CONACyT (equivalent to NSF at the US), PAPIIT-UNAM and by Royal Botanic Garden, Kew.
